Welcome, to the students and parents of Rm 220.

In the brisk cool morning, as I walk my large, Leonberger cross, Toby, I feel the excitement and anticipation of school year beginnings. I know you must feel it too. I am thrilled to be teaching the Math and English Language Arts for grades 4s and 6s at Holy Cross this 2017-18 school year. I look forward to getting to know you all and spending the next phase of our learning together.

You may be wondering a little about me. Who is this teacher? What will she be like?

Well, for starters, I have lots of experience going to school. Lots! When I was young we moved around quite a bit and I have attended 12 schools in all; some were in Pakistan, England and South Korea! Now, I am a mom of four almost grown children, though I still feel like they are my babies. I have a wonderful husband, who works in Human Resources. We round off our busy household with Toby, and our two fourteen-year-old cats, Jazzpurr and Celtic.

My very first degree is in Fine Arts, and I still enjoy artistic endeavours of any kind. What fun! I also love to read, garden, and do yoga. As you will soon find out, I also love to play games.

I have been teaching at all levels from Junior elementary to university graduate for over twenty years. I have a bachelors, masters and PhD in Education, so am a life-long learner. I hope to inspire our class community with this passion for learning. I am also a strong supporter of creative approaches to teaching and learning, so don't be surprised if math becomes a creative, game playing endeavour in our room! Our class will be filled with the joy and fun of learning.

As a teacher, my students are my number one priority. They are in my care, and I do not take this lightly. I will do my best to help them in any way I can. Parents, my communication lines are open. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns, or just want to chat to tell me how awesome you think I am (ok, you don't have to do that last part if you don't want to ; ). This class website is the first stop in staying on top of what is happening in Rm 220.

Let the games begin!

Mrs. Robinson
