This week is Holy Week, the last week of Lent, ending in Easter. As we remember Christ's last week before he died, we continue to live with and through kindness.
Hapara Workspace: Grade 6 Hub:
The Grade 6 teachers are attempting to streamline information by using a central hub. This is where students can go every day/week to access all their teachers' instructions and support materials. It is in the beginnings of development, so please be patient. The grade 6 teachers are at different places with their familiarity with Workspace, so their own learning curves vary. This workspace has been shared with the grade 6 students through their google drive. Students should check in to the Grade 6 Hub every school day to stay on top of their learning expectations and resources.
My weekly agenda will be in the Grade 6 Hub, and I will continue to paste it on this website under "Homework".
This week:
1. We will continue our daily reading, journal writing, Spiral math (copy in Grade 6 Hub), and weekly spelling sentences, Mathletics (angles and polygons), and EQAO practice workbook (if you have it).
2. Religion/Language Arts: We will go through the Lent and Easter, and the Stations of the Cross slide presentations (links on our Hub). This week's journal entries will use prompts from the Stations of the Cross (info in the google.slides), instead of the usual Daily Journal Writing slide prompts.
3. I am still working on digitizing our Angles lesson(s), so be patient, it is coming.
4. Next week, I will do another google.hangout where we will plant tomato seeds together. As with the Making Muffins, this is optional. I encourage all students to join the hangout and chat, even if they are not planting. Students must have parent permission to plant and must gather supplies beforehand. They will need: potting soil, recycled container to plant in, plastic lid or wrap, newspaper, ripe tomato, small pairing knife, cutting board, clean spray bottle or empty recycled water bottle. Have a good week, everyone!
