Easter Weekend

I hope this first week of more formal distance learning went ok for my Grade 6 students and their families. I have created a Grade 6 Hub as an attempt to stream-line the students' distance learning experiences. I think it will be helpful to have one place to go and find what they need. I would like this Grade 6 Hub to be the starting point of each school day. I will be using it regularly. Student can access this on Hapara. It is a workspace on Hapara. There are 4 columns, one for each of the Grade 6 teachers. My column is first, in blue. Of course, it is at the discretion of the other teachers how and what they include in this Hub.

In the Grade 6 Hub:

1. Announcements: Student should check the daily announcements for reminders and updates.

2. Daily Check In: I would like my students to start each school day by filling out the Check In form. It is very short and will only take a moment. This form allows me to know how each student is doing that day. It is in my column, however, all the Grade 6 teachers are able to view the students' responses.

3. Agenda: The Agenda section will have information, links and resources for the week. Naturally, it will change each week. It should be checked each Monday.

4. Q & A: There is a collaborative form for questions (and answers). Students and I can answer other students' questions. So they should check here frequently, even if they don't have a question. Maybe they could help someone else.

5. Subject Section: Finally subject specific unit info, materials, links, etc, will be provided. Students may be redirected to another unit workspace.

I hope this helps.

Have a relaxing and peaceful Easter weekend. I am counting my blessings. Stay safe and healthy.
