April 20-24

We are entering Week 4 of our online version of school. The Board email updates will keep you abreast of the bigger picture. We still do not know when schools will re-open.

1. Thursday Class Google.Meet, 10am. The Grade 6s have met three times now through google.meet. Our Thursday morning meeting is required by all Grade 6 students. There are still a number of students who have not joined us for these. PLEASE ATTEND. We may have an optional activity, but this will be in the second-half of our meet. This week our optional Thursday activity will be making Solitary Bee Habitats. If you are participating in this, please have your materials gathered and ready to go.

Materials: a cleaned out food can with label off, some string/yarn, duct tape, scotch tape, scissors, can opener, varied paper/card, straws, hollow stalks/twigs (if you have them), corrugated cardboard (big holes), a few toilet roll tube(s).

2. Work-it-out-Wednesday; Google.Meet, 10am. We will begin our online WIOW this week. This is an optional meeting, the same as our in-school WIOW sessions. Please join me if you have any math questions, regarding our unit work, or our Spiral Math, or our EQAO workbook. You should be able to use the same link as our Thursday meet.

3. Additional Math Tutoring: In the Parents' Place section of this website (see top menu) you can find online (real teachers) tutoring for math. Parents' Place > Helping at Home > Online live math tutor with TVO Mathify.

4. Check In: please complete the daily check In on our Grade 6 Hub. It is very short. I check this regularly.

Grade 6s, you are being presented with an opportunity. You are being given the opportunity to develop your organizational skills and your self-discipline as you work at home. Don't waste it. Stay on top of your school work. I cannot make you do it; only YOU can. Take advantage and develop these skills. They are skills that you will need in Grade 7 and beyond.
