FAITH-BASED LEADERSHIP
Catholicity permeates throughout my practice aligning with the OCSB's spiritual theme.

COLLABORATIVE ARTS-BASED RESPONSE

Religion Class Rosary
69 students, in three World Religion sections, each created a ceramic bead or section of the medallion or cross. They expressed how world religions are more similar than they are different. They are able to leave their mark/legacy in the school.

Principal Qualification Program
A class of leaders in training created their interpretation of leadership in clay. Their responses were included in a collaborative "Clay Lei". A lei is a series of objects strung together in a wreath to signify peace, love, honour and/or friendship. The circle was created as a symbol of connection and community in leadership and in faith.

Pope Portrait
Grade six students collaborated to create a portrait of Pope Francis. They were able to leave their mark/legacy in the school. The Pope's words are inspiring for these students as they embark on their new grade seven Intermediate experience.

FAITH FOR THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY
Prayer Table to Inspire
The classroom prayer table is designed to prompt faith-based thinking and practise. Student written prayers are clipped to our prayer screen. Colours and items reflect the liturgical season.

Bulletin Board to Inspire
Snowflakes exploring radial/rotational balance and angles add to a Nativity scene in the hall that the whole school can enjoy.

Classroom Door to Inspire
Hidden behind little doors, students created mini posters of the 25 days before Christmas, that add to the joy of waiting. Its location allows the school community to look and touch.
School Mass
A school mass is presided over by the parish priest. A slide presentation led our whole school community through the stages and steps of the mass.

Litergical Celebration with Colleagues
During the PQP course, our Catholic Administrative Team lead the group in prayer.
Modelling Love and Acceptance
Our Catholic school has a varied cultural and religious school community. We teach respect toward all and embrace diversity. We strive to bring our learning community together in love, rather than separated in difference. I cannot be fearful of my risking appropriation, but can only do my best based on who I am, what I know, and what is available to me.

I made this Dream Catcher / Four Direction Medicine Wheel hybrid that hangs outside our classroom. It was created with respect for FNMI cultures and teachings.
