Aspiring VP

  • Job shadowing during the PQP Practicum allowed for a better understanding of the leadership position. I did two observation practica. I shadowed a principal at an elementary school and three vice principals at a secondary school. 

  • Being the Principal Designate at my current school ensures further practical experience and accountability in a Leadership role. 

  • This allows me a better understanding of the scope of practice.

  • Debriefing with the school principal presents opportunity for valuable discussion and real-life problem solving.

Attending Leadership Professional Development Opportunities

  • Embracing opportunities for professional development within and beyond the school board indicates curiosity and the desire to continually improve. Learning should be shared with colleagues and school community whenever possible.

  • Graduate degrees indicate life-long learning.

  • The Principal Qualification Program allowed for professional learning and development, as well as presented opportunities to forge relationships and develop a community with other potential school leaders.
